Description
Documents pertain to a case filed by a group of 'Aborignal [i.e. Aboriginal] Natives' against a clerk (Russell) and a seed merchant (Pott). The defendants, who were leasing land next to the plaintiffs' land (plaintiffs' land= Block 5 in the Waitara Survey District), allegedly trespassed frequently on the plaintiffs' property and diverted, dammed and fouled the waters of the stream. The plaintiffs seek damages. Includes a letter regarding the transfer of documents pertaining to the case, an amended statement of claim and a notice to furnish further particulars. The land leased by the defendants was considered the legal property of the Waitara Harbour Board.
