The remaining siblings contest that Robert was not in a fit state to write a will given that he was suffering from tortor [i. e. torpor?] of the brain and they wish the money to be distributed equally among all the siblings. Includes a commission to examine witnesses in London, witness testimonies, a copy of the last will and testament of Robert Morey, an affidavit of J. B. Roy and original letters of correspondence between Robert Morey and his siblings. Subject matter of Morey's letters includes marriages, the coronation, Polly Loveridge, Uncle Squire, home front information about the war in South Africa [Boer War?],the dairy and farming industry in New Zealand, daily life on the farm, daily life 'back home' in England, hunting, house purchasing, William Morey's illness, family deaths and family births. Witness testimonies contain detailed information on the ages and relationships between the Morey siblings, their professions, financial status, dates of marriage, nicknames, numbers of children and daily life, the deaths of parents, migration of particular family members to New Zealand and their places of residence, sometimes complete with house numbers and street names. Personalities of some witnesses are also evident through their witness testimonies.
