Description
A United Fire Brigades Association Long Service medal. The medal features the United Fire Brigades Association crest which includes a hose holding fireman flanked by the British coat of arms on the left and a crest which includes a fireman's helmet, crossed axes and a Phoenix rising from the ashes on the right. " UNITED FIRE BRIGADES ASSOCIATION " is embossed around the edge of the medal and the motto " AUXILLIUM IN / PERICULO " is embossed near the bottom. " LONG SERVICE MEDAL / PRESENTED / TO / FIREMAN / Fred Moverley / BY THE / NEW PLYMOUTH / V FIRE BRIGADE / FOR / FIVE YEARS SERVICE / DATE COMPLETED / 1906 " is marked on the reverse of the medal. The long red ribbon features 3 identical metal bars which feature a crest with "2 YEARS SERVICE" embossed on it. A simple pin and clasp is attached to a top bar at the top of the ribbon and the medal is held in a presentation case. Two pins are stuck through the ribbon.
