Two pages from the comic strip "Dioxin Man" by Graham Kirk. The pages tell the story of Dioxin Man's birth following a man's unfortunate encounter with a spill of dioxin on New Plymouth's Back Beach. The pages date from early in the development of the Dioxin man character who was inspired by an actual chemical spill at Ivon Watkins-Dow, New Plymouth. Dioxin Man was later incorporated into Kirk's Dick Sargeson comic stip which ran in "The Listener" for three years in the mid-1980s.
