A group of eight soldiers are gathered in two lines in a grassy area at Hawera Territorial Camp. The soldiers wear full military uniform. Two of the men have been identified as Albert Chard, who died in World War I, and George Chard. A number of tents are visible behind the men. A man in civilian dress is visible on the right hand side of the image. He is possibly pulling a face.
