Description
View of construction work on replacement Fitzroy pole in Waiwhakaiho. The carved pole is surrounded by scaffolding and fencing. A man is visible standing at the base of the pole. There is a concrete mixer to the left of the pole and a bicycle leaning against the fence to the right. A small building is visible behind the pole. The replacement Fitzroy pole was carved by Henare Toka and erected in 1940 as part of the celebrations to mark the New Zealand Centennial.
