Digital copy of a diary belonging to Frederic Alonzo Carrington. The diary covers the period 9 June 1870 - 9 July 1872 and consists of short entries that briefly describe the events of each day.
During this time Carrington was active in local politics, he was appointed as Superintendent of Taranaki in 1869 (the position which he retained until the abolition of the provincial system) and in 1870 he was appointed to the House or Representatives for Omata.
