A view looking out over the town of New Plymouth towards the Harbour. The Sugar Loaf Islands and the Breakwater are visible in the distance. A sign on a building belonging to the Shuttleworth Bros on the left of the foreground reads "ALBION / TIMBER YARD & BONE MILLS / WESTPORT & BRUNNER COAL / OATS & CHAFF". The spinning blades of a sail-driven windmill appearas a circular disk on the right hand side of the photograph above a mill building which operated between 1879-1910. Shuttleworth's were on Devon Street West.
