 Description
Interior view of the master bedroom in Hurworth Cottage, 906 Carrington Road, New Plymouth. The cottage was the home of Sir Harry Atkinson - soldier, politician and four time Premier of New Zealand. Atkinson cut the wood for the cottage himself and finished its construction in 1857. The house survived the Taranaki Wars of the 1860s. The cottage was donated to the New Zealand Historic Places Trust in 1967.
