A small 9 carat gold badge shaped like an open book. " JUNIOR / COMPETITION / ESSAY ON / NEW ZEALAND / INDUSTIRES / WON BY / IVY EARP / AGE 10 " is marked on the front. " PRESENTED BY / TARANAKI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE " is marked on the reverse. " 9CT " is also marked on the reverse which has a simple pin attached.
