Description
A Victory Medal. The obverse features a standing Victory figure. The figure is holding a palm branch in her left facing hand and extending her right facing arm. " THE GREAT / WAR FOR / CIVILISATION / 1914-1919 " is marked on the reverse inside a leaf design. " Capt. E.M. King, R.A.F." is inscribed on the edge. The ribbon is a double rainbow colour with crimson on the edges and red in the centre.

Captain Eliot Millar King earned this Victory Medal while piloting Short seaplanes with the 64th (Naval) Wing based at Port Said, Egypt during World War I. Flying in at least sixty-three sorties, he was involved in bombing, ship escort and submarine search.
