Description
A group of five men are gathered around a wharf at Rutherford's flaxmill on the corner of Parihaka Road, Pungarehu. Three men stand at the front of the wharf washing flax fibre. One man removes fibre from the water with an implement, two men hold bales of fibre. Another man stands behind this group of three and a further man paddles a canoe in front of the wharf. Clusters of small buildings are visible on the banks behind the wharf.
