Copy photograph of Assistant Surgeon Samuel Walker, Armed Constabulary and recipient of the New Zealand Cross. Walker is pictured standing and is wearing military uniform. He holds a cane in one hand and the other hand is tucked into his jacket pocket. He is standing next to a small table that supports an unidentified object. An elaborate studio backdrop is visible on the left of the image. A patterned cloth is also visible on the floor behind is feet. The photograph is included on page 19 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
