Description
A sterling silver shooting medal. The sheild shaped medal features a soldier kneeling and firing a rifle in relief on the obverse. The medal has a fern leaf suspension. "WON BY /No.259 / Corp. Alfred Henry Armitage / Taranaki Rifle Vols. / BEST SHOT / IN WELLINGTON DISTRICT / 1907-8 " is marked on the reverse along with a sterling silver mark and the manufacturers mark " G.T.W." A section of brown coloured ribbon accompanies it.
