His other hand is resting on his hip. His legs are crossed at the ankles. He is wearing a waistcoat, jacket and trousers. A top hat is sitting on the chair. The photograph is included on page 19 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
