Ivon Watkins Dow calendar photo shoot, taonga Māori
A collection of taonga Māori arranged on a cloak with a patterned border. The objects depicted include: a composite wood heru/comb (A93.251) top left; a whale bone heru/comb (A77.182) top centre; a carved wooden waka huia/treasure box (A76.810); a carved whale bone aurei/pin or pendant (A76.757) lower right; two circular poria kākā/ornaments (A92.476 & A76.793); and a large pounamu/greenstone hei tiki (A77.294) lower left. The photograph was taken to be included in a calendar published in 1970 by Ivon Watkins Dow, the agricultural chemicals company.
