Description
A New Zealand Medal. The silver medal features a left facing profile of Queen Victoria on the obverse. " VICTORIA D:G:BRITT:REG:F.D " is marked around the edge of the profile. A wreath is featured on the reverse with " NEW ZEALAND VIRTUTIS HONOR " marked around the edge of it. " JOHN FRENCH. NO. 1. COY. TARANAKI BUSHRANGERS " is marked on the edge of the medal. The medal is topped by a straight suspension bar ornamented with fern leaf designs. The medal has broken free from its ribbon, which is blue with a red central stripe.
