Description
A wooden statuette of a woman in a classical Greek pose standing on a thick wooden block. " E " is carved into the back of the wooden block. " Carved using the timber / of the [illegible] Eden / on the voyage / to N. Zealand 1850 / T. Colson" is hand-written on a paper label attached to the base.
"Statuette carved by the late / Mr T. Colson, from timber obtained / from the Barque " EDEN " during the / voyage from England to New Zealand /in 1850, using his wife as a model,/ and a pen knife as his only tool" is typed on a paper tag attached to the statuette.
