Description
Princess Anne, wearing a green suit and hat, greets members of the New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled Association at the racecourse during a visit to the city. The princess and her then husband, Captain Mark Phillips, were in New Zealand with the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles to attend the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and Waitangi Day celebrations in Auckland. Anne and Mark made brief visits to Whanganui and New Plymouth on 5 February.
Jean Moffat of New Plymouth has been identified as the woman standing in the background.
