Copy photograph of a studio portrait of Lieutenant Henry Allan Clery, Taranaki Militia. Clery is seated with one arm is resting against a small table covered with a tablecloth. A book and hat are resting on top of the table. Clery is wearing a jacket, waistcoat and trousers. He has a beard. Part of the background has been hand painted. The photograph is included on page 15 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
