Copy photograph of a studio portrait of Frederic Charles Rowan, 43rd Regiment and later Sub-Inspector in the Armed Constabulary. In 1886 he was appointed the Consul-General for Denmark in Victoria, Australia. The photograph is a bust portrait of Rowan. He is wearing a military dress jacket with tassles on the shoulders. He has a moustache. The photograph is included on page 15 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
