Description
The TSB Head Office building at 120 Devon Street East under construction in 1978. Several men are visible at work on the building. A large crane is visible at the top left of the photograph. A sign on the crane reads "LIEBHER". A sign identifies the building as the "TSB CENTRE / (A TARANAKI SAVINGS BANK - MOLLER BUILDINGS LTD JOINT VENTURE). There are five cars parked along the street outside.
The CentreCourt shopping complex below was opened by Mayor Denny Sutherland in April 1979 but the bank’s headquarters in the tower weren’t opened until 5 February 1980 by Prime Minister Robert Muldoon.
