Copy photograph of a studio portrait of Captain George Buck, 65th Regiment, who was killed at Te Ngutu o te Manu on 7 September 1868. Buck is seated next to a small table covered with a patterned tablecloth. His regimental hat is sitting on the table. He is wearing military uniform and has his sword between his legs. The photograph is included on page 15 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
