Constable Laurence Milmoe, Armed Constabulary, pictured at Turuturumōkai Redoubt. He is pointing with an umbrella at the place where Captain Frederick Ross was killed during an attack on the redoubt before dawn on Sunday 12 July 1868. Milmoe is wearing a suit and a bowler hat. Vegetation is visible in the background. The photograph is included on page 14 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
