Copy photograph showing Captains Fortescue, Marshall, Taylor and Baker, Armed Constabulary, along with Colonel John Mackintosh Roberts, also Armed Constabulary and winner of the New Zealand Cross. All five men are dressed in full military uniform. Fortescue, Marshall and Taylor are standing next to a rope. Baker and Roberts are seated. All except for Taylor are pictured in profile. A bell tent is visible in the background. The photograph is included on page 12 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
