Copy photograph of a studio portrait of five soldiers - Evans, Geary, Hope, Thompson and Whiteside - wounded during the battle at Te Ngutu o te Manu in 1868. They are all seated around a small table and are wearing suits. The man pictured on the left of the photograph has a pair of crutches resting against his legs. The man pictured in the centre has a bandage on his head. The photograph is included on page 12 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
