Description
A silver plated serving tray with a handle at either end. The edges of the tray are ornately decorated. " J. B. ROY, ESQ. / FROM / H.F.CHRISTIE. / AS A SMALL TOKEN OF ESTEEM / & SLIGHT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF MANY KINDNESSES / 1894" is engraved on the bottom of the tray. "MADE IN ENGLAND/7652" is also engraved on the bottom of the tray which also has four short legs. "H" is also engraved on the bottom of the tray.

This tray was a given to the New Plymouth Mayor John Barton Roy by Mr H F Christie, a banker who for many years managed the Bank of New Zealand in Pātea. It remained in the Roy family until it was donated to Puke Ariki in 2011.
