Description
The New Zealand Nurses Association, New Plymouth branch was established in 1960 from the New Zealand Registered Nurses Association. The NZNA operated throughout eleven main regions serviced by six offices, with the aim of maintaining the best standards of professionalism in nursing, promoting the highest standards of health and social services and furthering the interests of all nurses. The New Plymouth branch was disestablished in 1989 when the NZNA underwent a restructure from local branches to a regional structure. In 1993 the New Zealand Nurses Organization was formed as a result of an amalgamation between the Nurses' Association and the Nurses' Union.
