Description
A cased bronze Jubilee Medal 1897. The obverse features a left facing profile of Queen Victoria. " VICTORIA D.G. REGINA ET IMERATRIX F.D." is marked around the edge. " C EMPTMAYER" is marked in very small letters under the bust. A wreath of roses and thorns surmounted by the Queen's crown features on the reverse. " IN / COMMEMORATION / OF THE / 60TH YEAR OF THE / REIGN OF QUEEN / VICTORIA / 20 JUNE / 1897 " is marked on the reverse. The medal is attached to a ribbon with a broad central blue band with wide white stripes at the edges fringed by thin strips of dark blue. The medal is held in a hinged presentation case with a silk lining on the lid. " WYON REGENT STREET LONDON " is marked in gold on the silk.
