Description
A cased Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). The silver gilt medal consists of a cross patonce surmounted by a crown. A medallion at the centre of the cross features Britannia surrounded by the motto "FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE " The medal is attached to a crimson ribbon by a simple suspension ring and is held in a presentation case with " M.B.E." marked on the lid. " GARRARD & Co. LTD / by special appointment / TO HIS MAJESTY THE KING / A4 ALBEMARLE ST LONDON / DALHOUSIE SQ & CALCUTTA " is marked on the silk lining on the underside of the lid.
