Description
Robert Allen Bent was educated in Waitara and completed a carpentry apprenticeship with Boon Brothers in October 1910. He taught Sunday school in Waitara, was a corporal in the Taranaki Guards and was a member of the Taranaki branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters. He married Alice Mills in 1915.
This collection of papers includes a diary recounting his training with Boon Brothers and time spent at Rifle Association camp, correspondence, exam papers and a notebook containing religious notes.
