Copy photograph of a studio portrait of Major Te Rangihiwinui, later known as Te Keepa or Major Kemp, from the Native Contingent of the New Zealand Militia and winner of the New Zealand Cross. He is pictured in full military uniform and has both of his hands resting on the hilt of his sword, which he is holding in front of him. The photograph is included on page 3 of William Francis Robert Gordon's album "Some "Soldiers of the Queen" who served in the Maori Wars and Other Notable Persons Connected Herewith".
