Equitable Building Society of New Plymouth

Production date
1901-1945
Description
An investment society, the Equitable Building Society of New Plymouth was formed in 1901. Through ballot the Society distributed interest free loans to shareholders.
While there is a brief record of the first ballot, held in March 1901, the main part of the minutes start with an extraordinary meeting of group three shareholders in February 1925, and continues until the closure and winding up of the society is recorded in 1945. Through the records, New Zealand's changing financial times may be seen.
