Description
A flat, rectangular lock ornately decorated on both faces. It has a brass finger pull latch, and a latch lock on one side. (No key). The initials "H. & V." are branded on the faces.

ornate
lock
is
unfortunately
missing
its
key,
but
is
still
a
solid
piece
of
metalworking.
It
is
easy
to
imagine
this
lock
protecting
an
impressive
front
door
or
perhaps
a
garden
gate,
but
this
is
one
of
many
objects
in
the
Puke
Ariki
collection
where
it
is
impossible
to
know
for
certain.
