Description
Correspondence between A.L. Shipherd (City Librarian, New Plymouth City Library) and T.D.P. Emblem (Director of the New Zealand Golf Club, Surrey), regarding the relationship between Captain Henry King and the New Zealand Golf Club. Includes information on the link between Brooklands House in Weybridge and Brooklands estate, owned by King in New Plymouth, and the possible connection between Henry King and the King family of Weybridge. In 1989 Emblem published a book, 'Around and About New Zealand Golf Club', relating to the history of the Golf Club, including its relationship to New Zealand and the King family.
