Description
Coracina pectoralis: Synonym: Ceblepyris pectoralis. Common name: White-breasted cuckooshrike
A bird specimen. "Ceblepyris pectoralis..." is written on a tag attached to the leg. Possibly originally collected by William Swainson.
The bird is a grey colour. The back of the body and head of the bird is light grey and the flight feathers of the wings and tail is a dark grey/black colour. The underside belly is white.
The bird is preserved with wings closed and legs flat against the body. The beak is triangular and is broader than most birds of similar size.

These birds are endemic to Sub-Saharan Africa in woodland savannahs. They eat insects and possibly small lizards. It is of Least concern in the IUCN.
