Description
Halcyon malimbica toraquata. Common Name: Blue-breasted Kingfisher. A medium sized bird. It is predominately a light blue with black on the wings forming a band across the back with the wings are close. The bird is orange on top and the lower mandible is black. The top of the head is grey and the eyes are surrounded by black patches. The underside is white with the light blue smudge on the chest. The bird is unmounted lying flat with legs out stretch behind it.

This species is found in Africa from Senegal and Guinea Bissau to West Mali.
