Description
The Hedges Memorial Cup. The electroplated nickel silver trophy cup is fitted with two handles is mounted on a black bakelite base with a sterling silver plaque mounted on the reverse. " HEDGES MEMORIAL CUP / NTH TARANAKI / ANNUAL CAMPORETTE / 1954 / BEST ALL ROUND TROOP " is marked on the front of the cup. " Presented by / MRS HEDGES / In memory of / "SKIP" / 1954 " is marked on a small sterling silver plaque on the reverse of the base. A list of winning troops is marked on one side. The earliest recorded is "WEST END" in 1954 and the most recent winners recorded are "WESTOWN" in 1987. A winner has been engraved annually for the first 1o years, then winners were engraved in 1966, 1967, and 1970. The next winner is then listed in 1983.
