Object detail

Credit line
Before milk deliveries were made in bottles, the milk deliverers would bring large vats of milk around the streets, and these milk cans would be left out to be filled. Much of the milk would have been processed at one of the many dairy farms and factories around the Taranaki region. Glass bottles prepared at the factory replaced the vats and can system in the 1950s.
