New Plymouth English Folk Dancing and Song Society
During the first few months of 1935, a group of enthusiasts meet to practice English folk dances. As interest increased the New Plymouth Folk Dancing Club was formed in June 1935 with Miss Evelyn Dowling as president. The club held dances and tutored classes. A choral component was later added which lead to discussions of the club combining with the New Plymouth Choral Society.
The minutes records the Committee meetings, the first AGM and they include newspaper clippings reporting on club activities.
