Wai-o-Turi has seen major renovations over the past 10 years. Starting with the original dining room which has seen two major renovations and is now completed with a capacity of around 300~ The Wharenui (pictured above) has also been recently renovated which now includes an outdoor seating area at the front of the whare itself serving as extra space to keep the home people and visitors dry or shaded from the sun. There are some good photos of the marae in its present state and currently Wai-o-Turi is undertaking a major roading project through the provincial growth fund to extend the car parking area as well as creating new footpaths and reinstating the original driveway.
