This is a photograph of my family. I am on the left aged 12 (Moana), my mother (Norah), Dad (Manga), my younger brother (Piripi) and my cousins Katherine and Maria Grainger who were staying those Christmas holidays. The swamp search was lead by Dr Alan Duff from Canterbury University and a team from the Archaeology faculty. I remember well Rigby Allen with his camera. Harry Dansey from one of the Taranaki newspapers covered the story. I spent the entire holidays on site trowelling through the mud and was given the first 2 weeks (I think) off school to work on the site

Remember Rev Manga Cameron who was the Pihopa Minister at ST. Saviors Church Waitara. Please I have a query relating to the notes in the brief, is there an explanation why it begins "Campbell family...." when it is clearly the Cameron family? Thanks for providing access to the many extraordinary historical images.
