Description
A straight armed cross paty with a red enamelled and silver straight armed cross paty mounted on it. The cross is attached to a red and white striped ribbon with a swing suspension loop.
The ribbon has a red and gold enamelled bar at the top and bottom and a simple pin on the reverse. " TARANAKI / PRECEPTORY " is marked in gold lettering on the top bar. A white, green, light blue & dark blue enamelled & gold enamelled badge featuring Mount Egmont / Taranaki is pinned to the ribbon. " NEW PLYMOUTH N.Z. " is marked in gold lettering on a scroll under the mountain. "WM. KNAPMAN " is marked on the reverse of the medal. " Mayer & Kean / Wellington " is marked on the reverse of both ribbon bars. " SILVER " and a manufacturers mark is marked in small letters on the reverse of the medal.
