A large bronze commemorative medallion. " THE ARRIVAL AT LYTTELTON 1850 " is marked near the edge on one side. A settler family is pictured in the foreground, with four tall masted ships in the background. The other side features a wreath near the bottom, together with a rams head and a stalk of wheat. " 1850 1950 " is marked near the bottom. " CANTERBURY (N.Z.) CENTENARY " is marked near the top on this side.
