Description
A series of interviews by Alison Robinson with G.L. (Jim) John. He talks about his life, his early childhood in Wales, the family emigrating to New Zealand and farming at Ngaere and the establishment of his engineering firm Johnco at Stratford. He also recalls his love of flying, the aircraft he has owned and his involvement with skiing on Taranaki and at Ruapehu. The interviews were used to write the book 'A full life, a full ride, my journey : an immigrant's tale' by G.L. John, [Stratford, N.Z.] : G.L. John, 2008. Also includes a draft copy of 'A full life, a full ride, my journey : an immigrant's tale'.
