Description
A silver Jutland Medallion. The obverse features a pair of flags crossed in front of a trident. The right facing flag is the Union Jack and the left facing flag is the white ensign of the Royal Navy. " 31 May 1916 " is marked on a shield design mounted on the trident. The design is enclosed by a thin ropelike design. " TO . THE . GLORIOUS . MEMORY. OF. THOSE. WHO . FELL . THAT. DAY ". The reverse features a wreath design. " THE / GERMAN FLEET / ATTACKED OFF THE COAST / OF JUTLAND AND DRIVEN BACK / INTO PORT WITH HEAVY LOSS. / ADMRIAL SIR JOHN JELLICOE / COMMANDER IN CHIEF / VICE ADMIRAL SIR DAVID BEATTY / COMMANDING / BATTLE CRUISER / FLEET.
