James Pinfold was born, 28 April 1855, died 30 July 1933.
He was a New Zealand Methodist minister who was appointed to circuits in Upper Thames, Gisborne, Hamilton, Rangiora, Springston, Mosgiel and Wellington South. He was also a distinguished scholar who wrote several works and was a member of the Polynesian Society. See NZ Methodist Times, 19 August 1933 p. 9.
