A Belgian Volunteer Combatants Medal. The bronze medal has an elliptical upper section and the obverse features a left facing bust of two Belgian soldiers, one wearing military uniform from 1830 and one wearing the uniform of 1914. A blue ribbon is attached to the medal via a suspension ring. " VOLUNTARIIS PATRIA MEMOR / 1914-1918 " is marked on the reverse side
