A copy negative taken on 1 October 1979 of three men from the Hawera Mounted Rifle Volunteers wearing military uniforms captioned 'Volunteers: T.H.A. Valintine, Dick Davis, Bob Matthews'. The image appears to be of a page from a book.
The young man on the left is Thomas Harcourt Ambrose Valintine (1865-1945) who immigrated to New Zealand in 1890. He settled in Inglewood and achieved the rank of Surgeon-Captain in the Volunteers.
