Description
A New Zealand Medal. The silver medal features a left facing profile of Queen Victoria on the obverse. " VICTORIA D:G:BRITT:REG:F.D " is marked around the edge of the profile. A wreath is featured on the reverse with " NEW ZEALAND VIRTUTIS HONOR " marked around the edge of it. " SERGT W. WALLACE A.C. " is marked on the edge of the medal. The medal is attached to a blue ribbon with a central red stripe by a straight suspension bar ornamented with fern leaf designs. A simple pin and bar tops the ribbon.

This medal was awarded to William Wallace, who served with the Armed Constabulary during TÄ«tokowaru's War in south Taranki. The medal was donated to Taranaki Museum as part of the collection of prominent south Taranaki lawyer John Houston.
